Creating

I am a visual artist. I usually create worship altars for Retreats where the conditions are not always the best. There are usually various background constraints so the photos don't come out the best. When I create a worship altar, I always begin with the retreat theme and work from there. I meditate on Scripture, Spiritual Writings, or Poetry. I generally get a vision of the general sense of the altar. Then, I work with materials, candles, crosses, spiritual symbols, objects from nature and anything else that happens to show up! I put it together in the days before and work with the retreat space, making adjustments as I go. I love adding objects that participants can interact with!
