Hello! I am a retired clergyperson in the United Methodist Church, continuing my work on a part-time basis through MOSAIC SFM, a spiritual formation ministry I created and was appointed to from 2009 - 2022 by the Texas Annual Conference UMC.
MOSAIC was called into creation at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2008 as I was engaged in prayer via Lectio Divina. I was meditating on John 6:1-14. In verse 12 of the NRSV, Jesus says, “Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost." As I sat with these words in the silence I knew God was asking me, starting with myself, to help people gather up the pieces of their lives so that no ONE is lost. I believe that God desires that each of us become the person we were created to be. In God's image, we were created to BE whole. This is a gift for ALL people and each one of us has the right to determine that for ourselves. While I prefer not to label people, I will personally claim the label "progressive" Christian with a whole-hearted commitment to social justice! imamosaic! my mission in life and ministry is to "create beauty from the broken pieces of life." |
I live and move and have my being at the intersection of contemplation, creativity, and compassion as I see to live out what Jesus considered the greatest commandments: Loving God, Loving Self, Loving Others.
- Through contemplative spiritual practices I seek God to a depth I cannot in any other way, which means I dwell in silence for much of my devotional time.
- Through creative processes I seek to know myself, to understand the gifts I have and to practice becoming who I was created to be.
- Through the compassion that flows out of knowing God and myself, I reach out into the world to others as I feel I am called to do.
I've always considered myself a mosaic person. I once was broken but now I recognize my greatest beauty emerged from that brokenness. Embracing my retirement, continuing to develop MOSAIC, finding all the pieces and putting them all together ... imamosaic ... As I grow, the pieces are always shifting.
