Take a few moments to be present to your body. You may want to connect with your heartbeat by placing your hand on your heart center. *Whenever you sense you are moving away from yourself through your thoughts running rampant, pause and take a moment to make this connection once again before moving on. Walk with a sense of “receiving” rather than “taking.”
Take a walk to no place in particular listening into each moment for the next invitation. Allow time to simply be present to the way the world is inviting you into deeper attention to the gifts of this moment in time. * If you need a little inspiration, read the poem “Lost” by David Wagoner Is there something that catches your attention? Pause to be present to God’s cathedral of nature … What questions emerge in you from the natural world? Can you hear our Creator’s whispers in your heart? As you simply allow the questions to rest within you, perhaps you might take a moment build an altar to represent your sacred encounter with the living God. Jacob “erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel,” which means God, the God of Israel. ~from Genesis 33:20 |
